What is the first step for new families interested in KDK?
The best first step is to register your child on our website. After registration, a member of our team will reach out to discuss your child’s needs and determine if KDK is a good fit. We ask families to register annually to accommodate changes in your child’s needs and interests.
What needs does KDK specifically serve?
KDK serves children ages 4 through 18 who have developmental delays accompanied by communication challenges. While many of our participants may be receiving speech therapy, this is not a requirement. The key factor is that the child has some communication needs.
Are parents allowed to stay with their child during group sessions?
We kindly ask parents not to stay in the structured group sessions. KDK is designed to encourage children and their families to connect independently with others in the community. However, if any concerns arise during sessions, parents will be contacted immediately.
Are security cameras used?
Our meetings are held at Highland Church of Christ, where security cameras are not available. We prioritize the safety and well-being of all children and have other measures in place to ensure a secure environment.
